That is why at dippyinvitations, our stationery is as bespoke as your event and we create ‘personal designs, made just for you.”

To try and help simplify the process and make it easier for you,
here are some things to think about when choosing what you’d like for your wedding stationery:

— GETTING STARTED —

Your wedding theme

Its become fashionable to have a theme for your big day, but there are no rules so don’t worry if you don’t have one. If you are wanting a theme again there are no rules it could be a style you like, an artist, your favorite food or drink, a meaningful trip you have taken together or simply a colour. Having a theme helps narrow down what things you like and more importantly things you don’t, yes its good to know what your not looking for also!

DippyMake offers a bespoke service so no two wedding stationery are the same and each is tailored specifically to you and your special day.

Your Wedding colours

You may not think you have wedding colours but even the flowers your having on your day can help form your wedding palette. Your Wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses and groomsmens outfits also give colour to what your invitation optional colours could take cues from. Classical white or ivory form the bases upon which you add your own colour combinations, some people like to give clues to there big day using their colour theme and some like it to remain a surprise on the day.

Your Stationery Budget

Typically its recommended 3-4% of your wedding budget should be allocated to wedding Stationery, which includes your invitation as well as all the day items like Order of Service, Table Plan, Table numbers, menus ect. Although all my invitations are bespoke designs, bespoke doesn't need to be expensive, there are many factors which can contribute to cost. I can work with you and help provide advise and varies design/print options so that we can create your perfect stationery but also keep to a budget.

Wedding venue & Location

Try and consider how your stationery will work within your venue and see if you can complement it. For example some venues may have coloured carpet or curtains which are fixed, so try and visualize your day stationery and how it works with these and still shines on your big day. There are also certain themes which make great pairing with their venues, for example a rustic look work well for a barn wedding and a vintage style works really nicely for an outdoor or marquee wedding. Also its worth checking with your wedding venue if and wedding stationery items are provided by them, like menus as this can save you having to get them created, just bare in mind they wont match the rest of your day stationery though.

Your Husband to be

Would he like to be involved in your colour scheme or theme of your wedding day? often it’s a really nice way to include both your likes and loves, although its not for everyone.

Trust your Instinct

Its your big day and you want everything perfect so trust your gut, if you don’t like something its best to be honest. You need to love your Wedding stationery and as everything I do is designed just for you we will find and make sure you are 100% happy.

Try think what items do you want for your wedding Stationery you'll need the bare essentials ; Wedding invitations which include things like directions, menu options, RSVP and gift wish lists, and items for the day would included table plan, table numbers and place cards. I offer lots of additional extras which you may like for your special day so please take a look:

What do you like?

Often you’ll know what you like and don’t like and this is the same for wedding stationery, so if you have anything you’ve seen that you like or inspiration for your invitations this is always a great starting point for getting ideas for your stationery.

When do you want to post your invitations?

This is the date that you have been looking forward too, letting all your family friends see a small snippet of what your big day will be like, and theres nothing more exciting than starting receiving your little RSVP’s back. Think about how far in advance you’d like to send out your invitations and when you need RSVP by as some venues will need confirmed numbers or meal options in advance. Typically 12 weeks before your wedding date is a good point to send them out but this is just a guide.

How many Invitations will I need?

Its always good to have a rough head count, often you'll do this when selecting a venue, so that we can use your budget to ensure you have enough invitations plus a few spare.

Selecting who will make your invitations?

There is a massive array of wedding stationery designs on the market and all company’s offer slightly different things, if you cannot find exactly what you are looking for, this is where dippyinvitations can help, as we offer a bespoke one-off service which is tailored specifically for you, this service may often be considered as more expensive but this isn’t always the case, its important you choose a stationery design which you love and is what you want rather than just making do. Why not get in contact to discuss your thoughts and ideas, I always provide quotes before confirming orders so you’ll know all the costs up front when making your decision.

We hope this has helped and we are always happy to put together a quote or
answer any queries or questions you may have. Please do contact us by email at
